Transmutation Alchemist Ch. 2

                                                    ~The Truth~

It was raining heavily on the lone dirt path when Ed Sam and Al get caught in it, the green plains surrounding them became soaked with precipitation.
"Crap, I didn't even bring a jacket with me." Sam said, trying to stay warm by hugging herself. Ed sighed and takes off his jacket, holding it up to her.
"Here. The last thing we need is a girl we saved getting sick." Ed said in a tone making him sound like he barely cared, Sam gave Ed a strange look but took the jacket and put it on.
"Thanks...I guess." Sam replied. Ed continued to walk and she blushes a little."I hope we get to the next town soon." Sam said as she yawned.
"If you're tired, I'll carry you so you can sleep." Al suggests to Sam, who was rubbing her eyes.
"I don't wanna burden you, I'm not exactly light." Sam poked her stomach.
"Don't worry, I'm really strong." Al flexed his arms which made Sam giggle.
"Alright then." Al bent over and Sam gets on his back, the sound from the rain hitting his armor sounded soothing. Sam's eyes close slowly as she drifts off into a deep slumber.

Once arriving in the next town, the Elrics manage to find an open hotel. Unfortunately there was only one room available so they take the offer, once arriving in the room Ed lays down on the bed exhausted putting his hands behind his head instantly falling asleep. Sam is placed on the second bed and Al heads to the couch which is placed on the right side of the room. Upon hearing a small noise, Sam wakes up and looks over at Ed who was mumbling in his sleep. She walks over to the sleeping boy and pokes his cheek to wake him and it works.
"Are you alright? You were mumbling in your sleep." Sam said while Ed sits up in the bed.
"What exactly was I saying?" He asked.
"You were saying "I'm sorry" and some other things I couldn't make out." She explains, Ed looks down sadly his bangs were hiding his eyes.
"Two years ago, our mother had a disease she never told us about and passed away."
"At least you still have your brother, my whole family's dead." Sam said, she hugs her knees feeling tears coming to her eyes, Ed lays his hand on her shoulder in hopes of giving her comfort.
"I'm sorry." Ed said, he wasn't sure what else he should say to her.
"I was 5 years old when my family moved to a new house, we we were happy until bullets rang through the door and my mom hid me under a table while the rest of my family tried to hide. The door busted open causing wooden shrapnel to fall on the floor and an officer killed my family. He found me under the table and let me live after giving me the burn on my shoulder, he told me to run as far away as I can so I did. For the last 8 years, I've been travelling from town to town trying to get revenge against the man who killed my family." Sam explained. Ed gave her a small hug.

Sam gives a small smile towards Ed then Al wakes up, seeing Sam and Ed awake.
"What's going on?" Al asked.
"We were just talking, you were sleeping on the couch this whole time?" Ed asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"It doesn't seem fair, I'm taking the couch."
"It's alright, brother."
"No it's not, you take my bed."
"I'll stick with the couch, Ed."
"I'm taking the couch." Ed argued.
"I'll take the couch." Sam said butting in.
"You can't because I'm sleeping on the couch!" Ed yelled, Al had a funny idea.
"Maybe both of you can take the couch." Al says, Sam and Ed glare at Al.
"WHAT!? NO WAY!!!" They say in unison, facing away from each other in disgust.
"I'm not sleeping with a girl, it's disgusting!" Ed says.
"And I am not sleeping with a boy!" Sam said in agreement and Al sighed. Sam grabbed a blanket heading for the couch and layed down falling asleep, Al layed down on the other bed and the boys fell asleep.

I know, the end was kinda creepy but funny. You can obviously guess what happens in the morning because I'm not going to tell ya. Stay tuned for Transmutation Alchemist (an FMA story) Chapter 3 True Feelings.
